Madison Nelson (Class of 2024)
The “UNFASTENED” collection was crafted from 1970s surplus military parachutes. The found material is a metaphor for freedom, inspiration, and sustainable living. Utilizing the parachute's original structures, the collection’s silhouettes and functional details echo the utilitarian roots of the fabric juxtaposed with soft drapery to evoke resilience and delicacy.
Gifty Ulinwa (Class of 2024)
"In Full Bloom'' celebrates women who blossom despite their circumstances, mimicking how a single flower can bloom in the unrelenting wilderness. The collection is inspired by Isaiah 35:1-2, which speaks of a desert rejoicing and blossoming like a rose. The vibrant colors and bold patterns embody the spirit of vitality, the green evokes the feeling of spring and transformation.
